BPPS 500 (Day 3): 8th Place – Sarmiento ($5,194)

Level 26 (20,000/40,000/4,000)
Total BPPS 500 Entries: 363
Players Remaining: 7
Chip Average: 1,550,000

Steven Sarmiento (Forest Hills, NY)

After getting crippled to a sub 10 big blind stack right before the last break, Steven Sarmiento was in a tough spot if he wanted to continue his run towards the BPPS 500 title and while he did manage one double up through chip leader Mickey Woll, he was unable to find another as the next time he was all-in and at risk, he’d be eliminated.

The action was picked up with the table folding to Sarmiento who would move all-in for his final 450,000, only to see Antonio Walker, who has yet to really do anything of note at this Final Table restive from the small blind, with Sarmiento saying, “That’s not good.” after Jeff Gross folded in the big blind.

Sarmiento would need to hit to stay alive as he held {Kc}{10h} to Walker’s {Ad}{Ks}.

The board would run out {5d}{6h}{2d}{7c}{4d} with Sarmiento not finding any help as he end a forgettable day where he got unlucky in a few key spots to bust in 8th place, making just over $5,000 for his efforts.

With the elimination of Sarmiento we are now down to only two former Borgata champions, Vinny Pahuja and Mickey Woll.

Players are also 30 minutes from the end of Level 26 after which we will update the remaining chip counts.
