Vinny Pahuja (New York, NY)

Vinny Pahuja (New York, NY)

Vinny Pahuja had a rough Level 27 as he was seemingly trending downwards for the last hour of play and even though he would chip up slightly over the first few hands after the restart but he’d be unable to find a double that he desperately needed as he’d get his final 15 big blinds in against Renata Colache, running into a monster to send him to the rail in 5th place.

The action would be picked up with Renata opening in late position with Vinny shoving his final 950,000 from the button only to be snap called by Renata as she turned over {Ad}{Ac}.

Vinny would table {Ah}{Qc} and it would be a cruel needle as the last time these two players were involved in this exact situation it was to double Renata up when she held six high and Vinny’s Ace/Queen could not beat here, doubling up the lone female player and more or less crippling Vinny to a short stack.

There wouldn’t be much of a sweat this time around as the board would run out {5c}{Kd}{2s}{Kh}{Js} with Pahuja drawing dead on the turn, sealing his fate in 5th place.

Vinny would make another five figure score to add to his impressive tournament resume, but with his elimination we are now guaranteed to have a new Borgata Poker champion as the remaining four players have never won a major tournament title in their careers.
